A lady has expressed surprise after discovering an unusually constructed toilet in an apartment listed for rent at ₦900,000 per year during her recent house-hunting experience.
The lady, identified as @only1oritoke on TikTok, shared a video of the apartment inspection that has since gone viral. In the clip, she revealed that the water closet (WC) in one of the apartments had been fixed in an unusual manner, mounted on a raised cement platform, giving it a visibly elevated appearance.
According to her, the landlord informed her that the rent for the apartment was ₦900,000 despite the unconventional design. The video quickly drew attention online, with many social media users reacting humorously to the toilet’s unusual structure.
One user, @SKIE, jokingly asked, “Na throne?”
while another, @nikkyoozemoya, commented, “The toilet is built upon a solid rock.”
Another TikTok user, @P TUMS, wrote, “Definition of ‘in my toilet, I am a queen.’” Others continued the joke, referring to the design as “Pallazo water closet” and “toilet on the mountain.”
Some users even made references to gospel songs, with one comment reading, “You raise me up so I can stand on mountains, you raise me up to sit on the toilet.”
The post has continued to generate reactions, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and expressing disbelief at the design choices found in some rental apartments across the country.
The viral video highlights the ongoing challenges of house hunting in Nigeria, where tenants often encounter strange or poorly executed designs despite high rental costs.
