Flight operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, were temporarily halted on Wednesday following an incident involving a private jet on the runway.
The Gulfstream 400 aircraft, with tail number 5N PZE, reportedly had 14 people on board, including four crew members. It arrived from the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu and landed around 2:16 p.m. when the incident occurred.
According to initial reports, the exact cause of the incident remains unclear, but aviation authorities have begun investigations to determine what went wrong.
Mr. Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), confirmed that FAAN is aware of the situation and assured that more information will be released soon.
Airport operations have since resumed after safety checks were completed, but the event caused temporary disruptions and concern among passengers and airport staff.
