A domestic dispute over alleged infidelity tragically ended with the death of a 55-year-old woman, Bartany Chela, in the Kolowa area of Baringo County. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday afternoon, and police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
According to local authorities, Chela was fatally stabbed and her private parts were severely mutilated during an altercation with her husband. Officers who arrived at the scene found her body under a grass-thatched store, confirming the extent of the brutal assault.
The husband, identified as the primary suspect, attempted to flee the area but was promptly arrested by responding officers. He remains in police custody and is expected to be arraigned once the investigation is complete.
Police have moved Chela’s body to the mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to establish the full details of the attack, including the exact cause of death.
