FG Will Protect Officers Performing Lawful Duties Defence Minister Badaru Abubakar

The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar, has assured that the Federal Government will provide full protection for all officers of the Nigerian Armed Forces carrying out their lawful duties.

The assurance was given during a press briefing held at the National Defence College, Abuja, marking the commencement of activities for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Abubakar emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare, safety, and protection of military personnel across all branches. He stated that officers performing their responsibilities within the law would not face any form of harassment or intimidation.

“Rest assured that any officer on lawful duty will be protected. I will not allow anything to happen to any officer doing his job and doing his job credibly well,” he said.

The minister stressed that both the Ministry of Defence and the Military High Command are dedicated to ensuring that disciplined and professional officers receive the necessary support to carry out their tasks effectively.

His remarks come amid recent incidents involving military personnel in civil enforcement operations, where confrontations with civilian authorities have sparked public debate.

Abubakar reiterated the importance of upholding the rule of law, discipline, and professionalism, noting that these values are vital for maintaining morale and accountability within the Armed Forces.

He also assured that the government would continue to monitor sensitive operations involving military officers and would take all necessary measures to prevent harm to personnel during lawful assignments.

The minister’s statement underscores the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to protecting, supporting, and empowering the Nigerian Armed Forces as they continue their mission to safeguard the nation.

Lagos Woman Missing After Message About Wrong Car

A Nigerian man, Mayor Johnson, has raised an alarm about the disappearance of his sister, Esther, in Lagos State.
