Nigerian disc jockey Kudirat Gbemisola, widely known as DJ Kulet, has recounted how she was molested during her childhood, including by a member of her own family.
The entertainer made the disclosure during an appearance on the Talk to B show hosted by actress Biola Adebayo. She explained that her mother frequently took her to various spiritual centres for cleansing after accusing her of stealing, but she ended up being molested in some of those places.
Speaking about her experiences, Kulet said she endured years of silence due to fear and trauma.
“I was molested at some of the places my mum took me to for spiritual cleansing. One of my family members molested me, and I could not speak out for years,” she said.
Kulet also addressed the collapse of her marriage, revealing that the union broke down almost immediately after the wedding ceremony. According to her, the marriage became troubled on the second day, although she remained in it for eight months.
“I started weeping from the second day of our wedding, but I endured for eight months. I did not know I was pregnant when the crisis happened, and that was the second time I was pregnant in the marriage,” she added.
DAILY POST previously reported that the DJ announced her separation from her husband, Ohis Emmanuel, in December 2024. At the time, she accused him of molesting a 13-year-old girl.
Her revelations have sparked conversations about childhood abuse, trauma, and the experiences of survivors within Nigerian homes.
