Content Creator Scott Iguma Cries Out After Uncle Is Abducted in Broad Daylight in Edo State

Content creator Scott Iguma has raised alarm on social media following the abduction of his uncle in broad daylight in Edo State. The incident, which he described as deeply distressing, has drawn renewed attention to the growing wave of kidnappings and insecurity affecting several parts of Nigeria.

Iguma shared that the family was thrown into panic after receiving a brief call from the abductors. During the call, his uncle sounded weak and struggled to speak, heightening fears about his wellbeing. Iguma said the abductors claimed they had assaulted the victim before making their demands

According to Iguma, the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₦100 million. The amount was later reduced to ₦50 million, but the content creator said the family still has no clear path toward securing the victim’s release.

He explained that the sudden shift in demands and the tone of the abductors added to the family’s anxiety. “This is something you don’t really understand until it reaches your doorstep,” he said, noting that the situation had shaken the entire household.

Iguma expressed disappointment over what he described as insufficient action from law enforcement, despite promptly reporting the incident. He said the family had expected faster intervention or updates from the police but had yet to see significant progress.

“We reported the matter to the police and they seem to be doing nothing,” he said. “The last time we spoke to my uncle, he could barely talk. We don’t know what condition he is in now. We are completely surrounded by insecurity.”

The content creator also commented on the confidence displayed by the kidnappers, saying their fearlessness reflects a growing trend of criminal groups operating openly and without hesitation.

“One thing I noticed about these bandits is that they are extremely bold. They are not afraid,” Iguma said, linking the behavior to what he believes is a broader breakdown of security across the country.

As of the time of filing this report, police authorities in Edo State had not released an official statement on the abduction. The family has continued to appeal for help and is urging anyone with useful information to come forward as efforts to secure the victim’s release continue.
