The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a search operation for a Toyota Camry car reported stolen late Monday night around the newly constructed Fire Service Junction in Yola, the state capital.
In an official notice titled “Stolen Item”, the Command revealed that the missing vehicle, a Camry Fish with registration number DSA 674 AA (Adamawa), was taken from a busy area near the Fire Service Flyover in Yola North Local Government Area.
The notice, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated that the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered the Command’s Anti-Car Theft Unit to swing into action. The surveillance team has been deployed to track down those responsible and ensure the recovery of the stolen vehicle.
According to the statement, the Command is appealing to members of the public to provide any useful information that could help in locating the car and apprehending the culprits. Residents are advised to report to the nearest police station, contact the office of the PPRO, or reach the vehicle owner directly via 07036908969.
The police further emphasized the importance of community support in tackling vehicle theft, which remains a recurring challenge in urban areas such as Yola.
