The Christian Association of Nigeria in Niger State has confirmed the escape and safe return of fifty students who were abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Niger State CAN Chairman and Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, said the students regained their freedom between Friday and Saturday. He explained that the children managed to escape from their captors and have quietly reunited with their families.
Yohanna expressed relief over the development and stated that further details surrounding their escape would be provided in due course.
Authorities and community leaders are expected to share additional information as investigations continue.
