2027: Aregbesola Says Ruling Government Cannot Rig ADC Out of Next Elections

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the ruling government will be unable to influence or manipulate the outcome of the 2027 elections, insisting that he understands the tactics of those in power and is confident in his party’s preparedness.

Aregbesola made the statement on Tuesday during the official unveiling of the ADC in Osogbo. The event, which drew party members and supporters, coincided with the 15th anniversary of the day his administration was sworn into office in Osun State, a milestone he described as symbolic and significant for the party’s renewed political journey.

Addressing the crowd, Aregbesola said the ADC offers Nigerians a credible and effective alternative to the nation’s current political challenges, including insecurity, economic hardship, poor governance and what he described as widespread disillusionment among citizens.

He criticised the current administration at both the state and federal levels, insisting that their governance failures have weakened public confidence. He added that the ADC would step in to rebuild confidence and deliver solutions that reflect the needs of the people.

Aregbesola also urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections. While speaking metaphorically about election-day strategies, he expressed confidence that the party would secure widespread support across Osun State and beyond.

“There is nowhere in Osun that the people do not resonate with what we represent,” he said. “Our achievements and legacies continue to speak for us, and that is why we receive overwhelming support anytime we return here, especially in Osogbo, the state capital.”

Aregbesola maintained that the ADC remains committed to presenting a strong challenge in the 2027 polls and expressed optimism that the party would perform strongly at both the state and national levels.
