2026 WCQ Playoffs: Chelle Drops Troost Ekong, Starts Osimhen and Lookman Against Gabon

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has released his starting lineup for tonight’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against Gabon.

As expected, first choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali will be in goal. The full back positions will be occupied by Bright Osayi Samuel and Zaidu Sanusi, while Calvin Bassey will partner Benjamin Fredrick at the heart of the defence.

Team captain Wilfred Ndidi will anchor the midfield alongside Alex Iwobi, who is set to make his 90th appearance for the national team.

In attack, the trio of Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Jerome Akor will play behind star striker Victor Osimhen, leading the line for Nigeria.
