A Nigerian woman has gone viral on TikTok after posting a funny video about her husband’s car, sparking laughter and debate across social media.
In the clip, she films the car parked in their compound while explaining that her husband had once again traveled with the car key, leaving her and the children to rely on bikes for school runs.
“He has travelled again with the car key while the car is here… bike all the way. This is a routine, so I am used to it. He will park car in the compound and take the key along with him,” she said.
The lighthearted video quickly attracted attention online. While some viewers found it hilarious, others criticised her for complaining.
Responding to the backlash, the woman clarified that the post was meant as a joke and not a dig at her husband.
“Must I drive the car? It is not mine, so I don’t have the need to be entitled to his car. A man who pays school fees, house rent, and feeding can’t be labelled bad or wicked because of a funny video,” she wrote.
She also used the opportunity to encourage women to be financially independent.
“Women, hustle for your own money, especially if your hubby isn’t big on sharing. Get the things you desire without waiting for anyone to hand them over.”
Her humorous take has since sparked mixed reactions, with many praising her honesty and others debating gender roles in marriage.
