Why I Dropped Otedola and Took Ajibade After Marriage — Mr Eazi’s Wife, Temi

Temi Otedola

Actress Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has explained why she decided to adopt her husband’s surname, Ajibade, after marrying Afrobeats star Mr Eazi.

In an interview with the BBC on Wednesday, Temi revealed that the choice was deeply personal, stressing that while it felt natural for her, she also respects the right of other women to make different decisions.

“I’m now a married woman, the obvious thing for me is to take my husband’s name. But it’s my personal choice… I also respect a woman’s ability to choose,” she said.

Temi on Privacy in Marriage

The actress highlighted the importance of keeping her relationship private, noting that moving in silence has helped her and her husband maintain control over their narrative.

“Moving in silence allows you to build the story you want and share it when and how you’re ready,” she added.

Thoughts on Her Father’s Memoir

Temi also spoke about her father’s recently released memoir, describing it as a rich account of his decades-long entrepreneurial journey. She said the book provides invaluable wisdom, not only for her family but also for readers who wish to learn from his experiences.

Although she admitted to benefiting from her privileged upbringing, Temi revealed that her father deliberately kept his children away from his businesses. While she initially felt disappointed, she later realized it was a push to carve out her own career path.

She further described her father’s resilience in the face of challenges as one of her greatest motivations.
