A dramatic confrontation has erupted in Zimbabwe after two women discovered they were romantically involved with the same married man, Nobert Chifeya, who is now accused of maintaining relationships with as many as 15 women.
The women — Police Officer Fortunate Tibu and Chiedza Janet Tariro Munyoro — joined forces to confront Nobert after learning that he had been deceiving multiple partners, some of whom claim to have been emotionally and financially exploited.
According to H-Metro, Nobert, who is married to Ellen Mutasa, allegedly told several of his lovers that his wife was dead — a lie that helped him maintain his numerous affairs. The man reportedly gained notoriety years ago for dating nine women at once, but new revelations suggest that number has almost doubled.
Speaking to the media, Nobert admitted that he is married but insisted that his relationship with Fortunate was genuine.
“I am a married man, but I fell in love with Fortunate,” he said. “We opened a clinic together. I had deliveries before it was closed. The equipment was supplied by both Fortunate and Chiedza. When they discovered my other lovers, they united against me.”
Nobert further accused Fortunate of abusing her position as a police officer to intimidate him, claiming she dragged him to the police several times and brought along a relative she described as a Central Intelligence Officer — who later turned out to be a security guard.
Fortunate, who works at the Chitungwiza Police Camp Clinic, said she met Nobert while trying to establish a maternity clinic called Mbuya Nyarai in Budiriro 5B. She alleged that Nobert promised to help her with the project, convincing her to invest heavily.
“I wanted to start my own clinic. Nobert promised to help me, and I invested everything — I took loans and even sold my car,” Fortunate revealed. “It was only after buying almost all the equipment that I found out he had lied about his wife’s death.”
Chiedza, who was also involved in the same clinic venture, shared a similar story.
“Nobert is not smart — he targets and manipulates women to exploit them. I lost a lot of money before realizing I was just one of many victims,” she said.
The women have since taken legal action against Nobert, accusing him of fraud and emotional manipulation. The clinic they established was later shut down by health authorities after operating for only a few months.
The shocking case has sparked widespread discussion in Zimbabwe, with many calling it a cautionary tale about deceit, trust, and financial manipulation in romantic relationships.
