Tragedy in Delta: 13-Year-Old Boy Killed by Stray Bullet in Sapele

A 13-year-old boy has been confirmed dead after being hit by a stray bullet in Sapele, Delta State. The tragic incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Thursday near Mopol Zone Junction in the Tropical area of the town.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy was reportedly walking along the street when gunshots rang out from security operatives attached to a popular hotel in the area. The security men were said to have been on night duty when they allegedly opened fire sporadically for reasons that remain unclear.

The stray bullets struck the young boy, killing him instantly, while several other residents nearby sustained varying degrees of injuries. The scene quickly descended into chaos as residents fled for safety amid the sound of continuous gunfire.

The incident has since sparked widespread outrage and panic in the community, with residents calling for justice and a thorough investigation into the actions of the security operatives involved.
