A 19-year-old Nigerian student, Marvellous Ugochukwu, has tragically lost her life after being struck by a truck while waiting for a bus in Regina, Canada.
The heartbreaking incident occurred along Dewdney Avenue near Elphinstone Street, where Marvellous was reportedly standing at a bus stop on her way to work. According to reports, a truck lost control and crashed into the bus stop structure, leading to her untimely death.
Marvellous, described as cheerful, intelligent, and kind-hearted, was a medical student at the University of Regina. She had taken a temporary break from school due to financial difficulties and was working at a local restaurant to save money and return to pursue her dream of becoming a surgeon.
Her elder sister, Miracle Ugochukwu, recounted the devastating moment she discovered what had happened. “She was going to work that Sunday, and she was happy going to work when it happened,” Miracle said tearfully. She explained that after realizing her sister hadn’t arrived at work, she went looking for her—only to be shown Marvellous’ passport at the accident scene, confirming the tragic news.
The news of Marvellous’ death has sparked widespread grief across social media platforms, with friends, classmates, and Nigerians in Canada mourning her loss. Many have described her as a bright young woman full of dreams and determination, whose life was cut short in the most unexpected way.
