A South African woman, Kgomotsego Sarah Ngope, has stirred controversy online after reconciling with her boyfriend who allegedly assaulted her just a week ago.
According to reports, Kgomotsego’s lover allegedly hit her in the face with a bottle on Sunday, October 19, 2025, leaving her with visible injuries.
The mother of one took to Facebook shortly after the incident to share photos of her bruised and bloodied face and hand, alongside a post shared from another user, Victoria Mangoedi, which read: “Stop calling it love when it leaves bruises.”
However, in a surprising turn of events, just a week later—on Sunday, October 26—Kgomotsego posted a loved-up photo with the same man. She captioned it:
“Mara yena o nkira happy yazi ka mo rata #NeedNoDrama.”
(Translation: “He makes me happy, I really love him. #NeedNoDrama”)
The post quickly went viral, drawing a wave of criticism and concern from social media users. Many flooded the comments section with remarks like “RIP in advance,” expressing fear for her safety.
Some users accused her of normalizing abuse, while others suggested economic dependence as a factor.
“He hit her with a bottle on the face a week ago, and yesterday she posted this. Ladies, we can do better,” one user, Rosaring, wrote.
Another commented, “Women hate poverty more than death.”
The incident has reignited conversations about domestic violence, trauma bonding, and victim-blaming in abusive relationships, with many urging Kgomotsego to seek help before it’s too late.
