Reactions Trail Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu’s Comment on Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels’ Marital Controversy
Social media platforms in Nigeria have been buzzing with reactions following Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu’s remarks on the ongoing controversy between businessman and politician Ned Nwoko and his sixth wife, popular actress Regina Daniels.
The uproar began after a viral video showed Regina Daniels tearfully speaking about alleged domestic violence in her marriage, claiming she had been “reduced to nothing” in her husband’s home. The emotional revelation quickly went viral, drawing widespread concern from fans and the public.
In response, Ned Nwoko reportedly denied the allegations, accusing the actress of substance abuse — a counterclaim that further fueled the heated online discourse.
Amid the tension, Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu shared a lengthy post on social media, offering a striking perspective on the couple’s relationship.
According to the Catholic priest, both Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels got exactly what they desired from each other — with Nwoko allegedly drawn to innocence and Daniels fascinated by wealth. However, he argued that what they share cannot truly be defined as marriage.
In his words:
“Between Elder Ned and Baby Gina — Ned is obsessed with virginity. Gina is obsessed with wealth. Ned has wealth — what Gina wants. Gina has virginity — what Ned wants. Their hotspots and Bluetooth were compatible for pairing.”
Ugwu went on to describe their union as an “abuse of the word marriage,” adding that both parties are now facing the consequences of their choices.
He likened their relationship to transactional marriages often seen in the West, where individuals exchange citizenship for money under the guise of love.
“If ‘Marriage’ was to stand and talk, it would have sued Ned and Gina for abuse,” he wrote.
The priest’s post has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions across social media. While some praised his blunt analysis, others criticized him for delving into the private affairs of the couple.
As of now, neither Ned Nwoko nor Regina Daniels has publicly responded to the priest’s comments.
