Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, one half of the defunct music duo P-Square, has stirred conversations online after sharing photos of himself in discussion with Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man.
The pictures, which appear to have been taken in a restaurant, show the duo engaged in conversation. In his caption, Okoye reflected on the ideas of shame and ambition, noting that successful people do not allow embarrassment or fear of judgment to stop them from pursuing opportunities.
He encouraged his followers to adopt the same mindset, writing that progress often requires stepping out boldly regardless of public perception.
However, the post has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians. While some praised his motivational message, others felt the post was unnecessary.
X user @AmosSoma37877 commented, “Facts only! The moment you stop letting ‘what people will say’ control you, your whole life changes.”
Another user, @ebube_emerie, wrote, “You met Dangote dey drop throwback pics and quotes. Mr. Eazi wey dey use the same toothpaste with Otedola no dey quote like this o.”
Meanwhile, some fans saw the post as inspiring, with @InnoAnawanti noting, “Freedom begins when you stop caring how your ambition looks and start caring how far it can take you.”
Despite the mixed responses, Okoye’s post once again positioned him as one of the few Nigerian entertainers unafraid to use their platform to speak on mindset and motivation.
