Dr. Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has strongly condemned the killing of AriseTV anchor, Sommie Maduagwu, during a robbery in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Speaking in a solemn, prayerful address, Pastor Enenche called for divine intervention and justice for the slain broadcaster, who was due to wed in two months.
“I like to pray this prayer again because of our nation. We trust God to help us further. In the last three days, there was a very, very terrible robbery attack in a particular neighborhood in our FCT here that led to the death of a young lady — a young, vibrant broadcaster,” he said.
The pastor described the deep grief of the victim’s fiancé, recounting how the young man wept uncontrollably after the tragedy.
“Someone told me today that the person to marry her, the fiancé, was weeping like a baby because their wedding is in two months’ time. I told them, animals just killed a person. We’re going to pray and ask the Lord to have mercy on our nation. Heavy human beings can’t be wasted like this. Heavy talents can’t be wasted like this. We can’t continue like this. Whatever it takes, Lord, have mercy upon us,” he lamented.
Issuing a fervent plea for justice, Pastor Enenche declared that the killers would not escape divine judgment.
“These particular killers will never go free. The blood of the innocent will fight them to their graves. In the name of Jesus, they will never go free,” he prayed.
He further invoked strong imprecations against violent criminals and asked God to intervene in the affairs of the nation.
“One more time, say, Father, we ask that you arise and have mercy on our nation and turn around our situation, Lord. In the name of Jesus. A 30-year-old, about to celebrate her 30th birthday, a lawyer and broadcaster, wasted at the hands of wicked killers. May these people not sleep. May the earth of our nation reject them. Those who love to shed blood, may the earth of our nation reject them,” he declared.
Concluding his address, the cleric led the congregation in repeated prayers, insisting that the perpetrators must be denied impunity.
“Father, whatever it is, arise and have mercy upon our nation. Deliver our land. We cannot continue like this. Lift your voice and say, Father, we ask that you have mercy on our nation and give us a turnaround in our situation. Again, Father, we ask that you have mercy on our nation and turn around our situation. Let the wicked killers never go free in our land anymore,” he intoned.
The fiery remarks and prayers by Pastor Enenche come amid widespread outrage and mourning over Maduagwu’s tragic death, which has further fueled public calls for urgent action against violent crime in Nigeria.
