Niniola Addresses Rumors of Secret Marriage, Speaks on Collaboration with Sister Teni

Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has cleared the air on speculations suggesting she is secretly married.

Rumors had circulated that the Maradona crooner’s reduced public presence was due to her being married and keeping it private. However, in a recent interview with Yanga FM, Lagos, the 38-year-old dismissed the claims, stating categorically that she is not married.

“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married,” Niniola said.

She further debunked the speculation that she was hiding her marital status to protect her career or bookings.

Speaking on why she is yet to collaborate musically with her younger sister, singer Teni, Niniola explained that the collaboration would happen only when the timing and circumstances are right.

“It has to happen at the right time and under the right circumstances,” she said, adding that, “Music is business, and there’s no family in business.”
