A woman who once appeared on the TV show Paternity Court has been arrested after allegedly shooting her four children, claiming they were “with the devil.”

According to police reports, the mother — identified as Romelus — told officers that her children were “dead to her” and “with the devil,” adding chillingly, “’Cause you can’t take me without me taking you.”

Authorities say Romelus has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault, and is currently being held on a $14 million bond.

The shocking incident has drawn national attention, especially after it was revealed that Romelus had appeared on Paternity Court nearly 12 years ago, seeking to determine the father of her eldest child. During the episode, DNA tests revealed that neither of the two men tested was the father.

Police confirmed that her 17-year-old son, who was not involved in the incident, was not at the home at the time of the shooting and has not been located since.

While investigating the crime scene, officers reportedly uncovered evidence of large-scale fraud, according to Click2Houston. Upon returning with a warrant, detectives seized:

  • 33 Social Security cards
  • 48 identification cards
  • 16 credit cards
  • Multiple devices including phones, laptops, and printers used to create fake IDs

Several of the seized items bore Romelus’ photograph or address but listed different names.

Authorities continue to investigate both the homicide case and the alleged fraud operation uncovered at the suspect’s residence.
