Wunmi Aloba, the wife of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has responded to the recent withdrawal of her father-in-law’s legal counsel from the ongoing DNA case involving her son, Liam.
Naija News reports that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father, has been demanding a DNA test to confirm the paternity of his grandson. However, in a new development, his lawyer — a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) — has reportedly withdrawn from the case.
Reacting in a post shared via her Instagram page on Wednesday, Wunmi stated that those who are confident in the truth do not “run, hide, or switch lawyers.” She maintained that the DNA test cannot be manipulated, regardless of how many new lawyers are brought into the matter.
“Another lawyer, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has withdrawn from the DNA case. To my father-in-law, you can get as many lawyers as you want from anywhere in the world. One thing that’s certain is that you can’t manipulate this DNA. I’m sorry. A whole SAN,” she wrote.
“When people are confident in truth, they don’t run. They don’t hide. They don’t switch lawyers every month. They don’t ignore court calls. We have cooperated from Day 1. We have never opposed a DNA test. We showed up, we waited, we followed the law. The only people delaying this process are the same people who requested it.”
Wunmi further emphasized her faith in both the judicial process and scientific evidence, stating that “no one can manipulate the court, and no one can manipulate science.”
She concluded by reaffirming her commitment to seeking justice for her late husband and their son, writing:
“Let the truth speak for Liam, for Mohbad, and for justice. November 11 is around the corner. We will be there again.”
The DNA case, which has sparked widespread public interest and debate, continues to draw attention as both families await the court’s next proceedings.
