A man has taken to social media to express outrage after his neighbour allegedly poured a bag of salt into his generator’s fuel tank, reportedly in retaliation for constant noise from the machine.
According to the man, his generator had become a source of discomfort to his neighbour due to the noise it produced. Instead of addressing the issue amicably, the neighbour allegedly decided to sabotage the generator by pouring salt into the fuel tank, an act that could severely damage the engine.
In a video shared online, the aggrieved man lamented the incident, describing it as an act of wickedness and sheer malice. He explained that his neighbour’s intention was clearly to render the generator useless and cause him financial loss.
Experts note that introducing salt into a generator’s fuel tank can cause extensive damage to the engine. When salt mixes with fuel or water, it corrodes metal components, clogs the fuel filter, and disrupts combustion, often leading to complete engine failure if not promptly repaired.
The man’s video quickly gained traction on social media, attracting a wave of mixed reactions from netizens. While many sympathized with him and condemned the act as malicious, others argued that he might have provoked his neighbour by running the generator excessively, causing noise pollution in the area.
One user, identified as @$Currency$, commented, “The engine don go 😳.”
Another, @FWESH❤️🦋❤️🔥, said, “E reach you as you no wan allow person get peace of mind. Ona go on gen from morning till night without considering people around.”
However, not everyone believed the generator was beyond saving. A user,
