A young Nigerian woman has stirred controversy online after revealing how she spent money sent to her by a man she met on Snapchat, who allegedly tried to arrange a hookup.
In a now-viral TikTok video, the woman, identified by her handle @sheisxoxo0, narrated that the man had approached her with a proposition and transferred ₦50,000 to cover her transport fare.
Instead of honoring the invitation, she said she decided to use the money differently. The clip showed her shopping at a local market, where she bought chicken, turkey, and other ingredients, before heading home to prepare a large pot of stew.
Meanwhile, the man continued to message her repeatedly, asking about her whereabouts. She admitted to ignoring his calls and texts, saying she would only reply after enjoying her meal.
The woman explained that her actions were not only deliberate but also a way to make a point, stressing that “not every girl on Snapchat is available for hookup.” She advised men to stop assuming women on the platform were there solely for transactional relationships.
Her video has since generated massive reactions across social media platforms.
- Supporters praised her boldness, saying she turned the situation to her advantage and used the money wisely.
- Critics, however, condemned her behavior, accusing her of being dishonest by accepting the money when she never intended to meet the man.
