Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has shared her candid opinion about Afrobeats superstar Davido during an interview with media host Chude Jideonwo.
While Henshaw admitted that she enjoys listening to Davido’s music, she clarified that she isn’t exactly a fan of the singer — citing a past encounter where he allegedly failed to greet her.
“I’m old enough. He didn’t greet me, and for me, I believe you should be respectful,” she said, emphasizing that respect and good character are just as important as talent.
Despite the incident, the award-winning actress acknowledged Davido’s remarkable achievements and praised his generosity — particularly his decision to donate his birthday funds to charity. She also commended him for representing Nigeria globally, with his music featured in Coming to America 2.
Reflecting on the singer’s journey, Henshaw noted that Davido has experienced both success and deep personal loss.
“There is joy. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel if we hold on,” she added.
The conversation ended on a lighthearted note when Jideonwo quipped, “But Davido, greet your elders,” echoing Henshaw’s stance on courtesy.
In all, while Kate Henshaw respects Davido’s artistry and influence, she made it clear that humility and respect remain non-negotiable virtues in her eyes.
