Influencer Defends Regina Daniels Amid Drug Allegations

Kelly Hassino

A social media influencer, identified as Kelly Hassino, has spoken out in defense of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, dismissing circulating rumors that the actress is involved in substance abuse.

Hassino, who shared his remarks online, recounted a personal encounter with the actress earlier this year at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja. According to him, Daniels appeared polite, calm, and well-coordinated — qualities he believes are inconsistent with those of a drug user.

“I refuse to agree that Regina Daniels is a drug addict. Alcohol maybe, but drugs… no,” he wrote. “I met her once at Transcorp Hilton earlier this year. I introduced myself as a social media influencer — she was so polite and coordinated to be that, and I’ve met many drug addicts. It’s easy to tell that they are.”

Hassino further argued that the actress’s assertiveness is often misinterpreted by the public. He suggested that her strong personality is a reflection of the challenges that come with being in a polygamous marriage, where resilience is key.

“Regina Daniels is only a very stubborn girl, and when you’re one of the wives in a polygamy, you have no choice but to be stubborn — because it can mean the difference between life and death,” he added.

The influencer emphasized that Daniels deserves respect rather than judgment, maintaining that the claims of drug use are baseless and unfair.

The defense comes amid reports of a marital fallout between Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. Recent unconfirmed reports suggested that the actress, who is a mother of two, had temporarily moved out of her husband’s residence following a domestic dispute.
