A heartbroken Nigerian father has taken to social media to mourn the painful loss of his beloved daughter, expressing deep regret that she ignored his heartfelt warning before her untimely death.
In an emotional post that has since gone viral on Facebook, the man, who identified himself as Apostle Anointed, recounted how he had warned his daughter not to eat or drink anything on her birthday, urging her to be cautious of the people around her.
“I warned her… I said, ‘My daughter, don’t eat or drink anything on your birthday. Be careful not everyone smiling with you means well,’”
the grieving father wrote.“She said, ‘Okay Papa.’ But before I knew it, I saw a birthday celebration on Facebook.”
The distraught man revealed that soon after her birthday, tragedy struck leaving him devastated and full of unanswered questions.
Overwhelmed with sorrow, Apostle Anointed described his late daughter as humble, down to earth, and always supportive, saying her passing has left a wound that words cannot heal.
“My heart is heavy… You were humble, down to earth, and always there when I needed you. Heaven has gained an angel, but this pain cuts deep,”
he lamented.
He went on to use his post as a warning to other young people, emphasizing the dangers of envy and betrayal that often hide behind friendly faces.
“Young people, please hear me be careful who you call your friends. Jealousy is real, and wickedness wears a friendly face,”
he wrote, adding tearful emojis to convey his grief.
The post has sparked emotional reactions across social media, with many users expressing condolences while also echoing the father’s warning about trust and vigilance, especially during celebrations where envy can easily disguise itself as love.
While details surrounding the young woman’s death remain unclear, the story has touched thousands, serving as a painful reminder of how fragile life can be and how important it is to be cautious in today’s world.
May her soul rest in peace. Our thoughts are with her grieving father and family.
