Businessman and singer Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has once again sparked controversy after giving Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy a mocking nickname.
The hospitality mogul, who recently performed alongside Davido at a concert in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, shared his excitement online after the show, noting that it was a proud moment for him to perform in a packed stadium.
“I performed at a stadium, and the people of Akwa Ibom sabi my gbedu,” Chiefpriest boasted, adding that the state would always hold a special place in his heart.
However, the conversation took a turn when a fan mentioned Burna Boy in the comment section. In response, Cubana Chiefpriest referred to the City Boys crooner as “Bingo” — a term commonly used to describe a pet dog — implying that Burna Boy was envious of his success.
He further praised Davido, crediting him for shaping the Afrobeats movement and declaring him the rightful leader of the genre.
“Without Davido, Afrobeats would be an illegitimate child. He is the 001 — the papa of Afrobeats,” Chiefpriest wrote.
The statement has since stirred heated reactions across social media, with fans of both artists debating his comments and reigniting the long-standing rivalry between Burna Boy and Davido supporters.
