Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie XO, has spoken out in defense of her decision to remain with her husband following his confession of infidelity.
The Grammy-nominated country and hip-hop artist, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, revealed in a candid conversation on the Human School podcast (October 21) that he had once cheated on Bunnie during their marriage — a revelation that has since sparked widespread debate online.
“I don’t talk about this publicly at all, but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” Jelly Roll admitted. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”
The couple, who married in 2016 and renewed their vows in 2023, briefly split in 2018 before reconciling. Reflecting on their journey, the “Son of a Sinner” singer said the experience ultimately strengthened their relationship.
“We’re stronger than we could have ever been,” he said. “And I wish our story didn’t include that chapter, but I’m proud of who we are today.”
Following his admission, Bunnie XO (real name Alyssa DeFord) faced criticism from fans who questioned why she chose to stay. One social media user commented, “Your husband had an affair on you. You took him back... We can’t look up to you now.”
However, the podcast host and entrepreneur quickly fired back via her Instagram Story, pairing her message with Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears.”
“It actually takes a stronger woman to face pain head-on, do the work, and rebuild with the man she loves — instead of running or gossiping,” Bunnie wrote. “Growth isn’t weakness, it’s grace.”
Her response has drawn mixed reactions, with many fans praising her maturity and resilience, while others continue to debate the challenges of forgiveness in public relationships.
