Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has been accused of cyber harassment, blackmail, and invasion of privacy in a legal petition filed by the solicitors of a woman identified as Jane Doe.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by Bristol & Mortglass C.S., the law firm representing the woman, their client has endured emotional distress and continuous online harassment after allegedly rejecting the artiste’s romantic advances in December 2024.
The petition claims that Blaqbonez unlawfully obtained and circulated private video content belonging to the woman without her consent.
The firm alleged that their client suffered months of humiliation, intimidation, and defamation on social media, and that several attempts to make the rapper cease the alleged behavior were ignored, prompting her to seek police intervention.
According to the petition, the situation has caused the woman deep emotional trauma and fear for her safety while residing in Lagos.
The law firm stated that Blaqbonez’s actions violate multiple Nigerian laws, including:
- The Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015,
- The Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act 2015, and
- The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Bristol & Mortglass C.S. further revealed that another law firm, TIA Solicitors, had previously written to Blaqbonez in December 2024 and January 2025, demanding the deletion of all private materials, a public apology, and ₦200 million in damages.
Despite delivering these notices twice to his residence, the alleged harassment reportedly continued.
As of the time of this report, Blaqbonez and his management team have not issued any public statement regarding the accusations.
