After 10 Years of Marriage, Woman Shocked as Husband Plots to Divorce Her, Take Her Property, and Be With Another Woman

A Nigerian woman has shared a heartbreaking story of betrayal after discovering that her husband was allegedly planning to divorce her, seize her property, and start a new life with another woman barely three months after they welcomed their first child.

The woman, identified on TikTok as @rhoda2369, recounted her ordeal in a video that has since gone viral, sparking widespread sympathy and conversation online about trust, marriage, and betrayal.

According to Rhoda, she and her husband had been married for 10 years without a child, enduring emotional and societal pressure throughout the period. After a decade of prayers and medical efforts, the couple was finally blessed with a baby — a moment she described as the happiest of her life.

However, the joy was short-lived. Just three months after childbirth, Rhoda discovered what she described as a shocking secret about her husband’s intentions.

In her viral TikTok video, Rhoda explained that she accidentally overheard her husband talking on the phone with another woman. During the conversation, he allegedly discussed plans to divorce her, take over her money and property, and continue his relationship with the new woman.

Quoting her words in Pidgin English, she said:

“My husband dey follow another lady dey talk say him go divorce me. He say him go divorce me carry my money. Say him go collect all my property, divorce me collect him child.”

 

“I Earn More Than Him, But I Respected Him”

The woman further revealed that she earns more than her husband, but has always treated him with respect and supported him financially. She said his betrayal was unexpected and deeply painful, especially after all they had endured together.

“I never disrespected him even when I was the one providing more. I supported him because we were partners. I never imagined he could betray me like this,” she said in part.

Following the discovery, the couple reportedly separated, and Rhoda decided to share her experience publicly to warn others and express her pain.

Her video quickly went viral on TikTok, attracting thousands of reactions from Nigerians who expressed shock, anger, and sympathy.

While some users condemned the husband’s alleged actions, others advised the woman to focus on healing and protecting her child. A few commenters also highlighted how financial power and patience do not always guarantee loyalty in marriage.
