Nollywood actress and filmmaker Etinosa Idemudia has opened up about her personal battle with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), using her verified Instagram page, @etinosofficial, to inspire women living with the hormonal condition.
In an emotional post, the actress revealed that a social media user recently tried to mock her over visceral fat, a common symptom of PCOS. Instead of reacting negatively, Etinosa said she chose to seek clarity from her gynaecologist, where she learned that while PCOS has no permanent cure, it can be effectively managed through proper medical care and lifestyle changes.
Turning her experience into a message of empowerment, Etinosa addressed women struggling with the condition, reminding them that they are not defined by their symptoms — whether facial hair, abdominal fat, or fertility challenges.
“You are not less of a woman because of PCOS,” she wrote. “I carried my baby, and you will carry your baby. You are beautiful, and you are enough.”
She also urged women to ignore hurtful remarks from trolls, partners, or strangers, emphasizing the importance of self-love and resilience.
Etinosa, who has previously spoken about her fertility struggles, recounted how she eventually overcame PCOS-related challenges to conceive her child — a testimony that continues to inspire hope among women battling the same condition.
Her post has since attracted widespread praise, with fans and colleagues commending her for using her platform to raise awareness about PCOS and promote strength, education, and confidence among women facing similar health battles.
