Zaria School Horror: Teachers Arrested for Allegedly Abusing 11-Year-Old Student

Two female teachers of a school in Zaria, Kaduna State, have been arrested and charged over the alleged sexual abuse of an 11-year-old female student inside the school toilet. Three other teachers implicated in the case remain at large.

The alleged abuse reportedly began in 2023, when the victim was in Primary Three, and continued over multiple occasions. Court documents state that one of the teachers allegedly used an object during the assaults and threatened the student to prevent her from reporting the incidents. The second teacher is also accused of committing similar acts inside the school’s female toilet.

The Presiding Magistrate has ordered the remand of the arrested teachers at the Zaria Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice. The court has adjourned the case to 22nd October, 2025, for further proceedings, which will determine whether the case will be transferred to the High Court.
