Popular Ghanaian TikTok star Elvis Frimpong, better known as Osanju, has died unexpectedly in his sleep on Sunday, August 31, 2025, leaving fans and the digital community in shock. He was 28.
According to close friends, Osanju had complained of body pain earlier that evening before retiring to bed. He was later found unresponsive in his room and rushed to Mount Zion Hospital in Koforidua, where doctors confirmed his death.
Just hours before his passing, Osanju uploaded a TikTok video reacting to the La Liga match between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano, which ended in a 1-1 draw. In the clip, he appeared lively and energetic, showing no outward signs of illness. The sudden contrast between his vibrant online presence and his untimely death has left fans devastated.
Though the official cause of death has not yet been disclosed, Osanju had been open about his battle with chronic myeloid leukemia, a blood-related cancer. He often spoke in interviews and videos about the challenges of living with the illness and the financial strain of treatment.
His passing comes just five months after the burial of his mother, who also succumbed to leukemia — a personal tragedy that he shared publicly, earning him even deeper empathy from followers.
Tributes have been pouring in across social media from fans, friends, and fellow creators. Many described him as a source of laughter, resilience, and courage.
One fan wrote: “You gave us joy even while battling your own pain. Rest well, legend.”
With over 1.1 million TikTok followers, Osanju became one of Ghana’s most influential content creators, blending humor, sports commentary, and candid reflections on his health. His authenticity and courage resonated with audiences far beyond Ghana.
Osanju’s sudden death has sparked widespread grief, but his legacy remains a young man who used his platform not only to entertain but also to shed light on the realities of living with a chronic illness.
As Ghana mourns the loss of one of its brightest digital stars, fans continue to share his videos as a way of keeping his memory alive.
