Irish mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor says he has been offered a staggering $100 million along with U.S. “Golden Visas” to headline a UFC event planned for the White House in 2026.
The fighter took to social media on Thursday, declaring:
“$100million to fight at the White House along with 100 U.S. ‘Golden Visas’ for myself and family and friends. I look very forward to entertaining the fighting world once again. A pleasure I never take for granted!”
The bout, described by backers as a “spectacle for the ages,” is being lined up for July 4, 2026, on the South Lawn of the White House, coinciding with celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
U.S. President Donald Trump, a longtime friend of UFC chief executive Dana White, is said to be pushing for the event as part of the anniversary program. White reportedly met Trump earlier this month to pitch the high-profile fight card.
McGregor, who has been in semi-retirement, is now strongly tipped to make his long-awaited comeback at the event. His demand for “Golden Visas” refers to a controversial immigration initiative introduced by the Trump administration this year, which allows wealthy applicants to secure fast-tracked residency rights for a $1 million fee.
While McGregor has portrayed the offer as finalized, neither the UFC nor the White House has confirmed any contract details. Analysts also point out that granting 100 such visas to a single fighter and his entourage could face major legal hurdles.
The announcement has already drawn mixed reactions, with Irish politicians criticizing McGregor’s demands as “a poor reflection” of the nation abroad. However, for UFC fans, the possibility of a White House fight night represents one of the most audacious spectacles in the sport’s history.
