Nigerian singer and businessman Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has revealed that his biggest inspiration has always been Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote — not music.
The Skin Tight crooner, who recently tied the knot with billionaire heiress Temi Otedola in a grand three-country wedding celebration, disclosed during an interview with Angela that his entrepreneurial spirit was sparked as early as age 15. According to him, music was never part of his original plan.
Mr Eazi explained that he began his journey by organizing parties during his university days, which gradually pulled him into recording songs. While his sound quickly resonated with fans, his true ambition was to build business empires like Dangote.
He also recalled a life-changing encounter with legendary American singer Ms. Lauryn Hill, who invited him to perform in the U.S. and, backstage, told him she had been searching for him. That validation, Eazi said, made him take music more seriously.
Interestingly, Aliko Dangote himself was present at the couple’s wedding in Iceland, where he spoke highly of Mr Eazi, noting that the singer already operates businesses across 18 African countries. Dangote went on to describe the wedding as the best he had ever attended, further promising to personally sponsor the naming ceremony of the couple’s first child and make it truly spectacular.
