Actress Mercy Aigbe Loses Mother

The Nigerian film industry has been thrown into mourning as popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, announced the passing of her mother.

The actress broke the sad news on Tuesday through her Instagram page, where she posted a candlelight image on a broken-heart background with the caption: “R.I.P Mum.”

Although the circumstances and exact date of her mother’s death were not disclosed, Aigbe has often spoken publicly about the profound influence her mother had on her life, crediting her for instilling values of sacrifice, selflessness, and resilience.

Following the announcement, condolence messages poured in from colleagues, fans, and friends in the entertainment industry.

Actress Iyabo Ojo wrote: “So sorry ore, may her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
Dayo Amusa added: “My sincere condolences, Agbeke.”
