Popular Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello is speaking candidly about her views on love, relationships, and marriage in a new interview, offering fans a rare glimpse into her personal life.
In a video interview posted on the official YouTube channel of Diary of a Naija Girl TV on Friday, July 25, the veteran actress shared her current relationship status and revealed the kind of man she’s open to settling down with.
“I'm Not Interested in Dating Young Guys” — Shaffy Bello
While many admire her elegance and charm, Shaffy made it clear that dating younger men is off the table for her at this stage of her life.
“I’m not interested in dating any young guy now,” she said firmly.
Her decision, however, doesn’t rule out love entirely. The actress added that she’s open to marriage again, but only with the right man.
“I don’t mind getting married, but I have a different opinion about marriage and what I believe in,” she explained. “A lot of people are very rigid when it comes to marriage.”
Marriage Then vs. Now: A Shift in Perspective
Reflecting on her past, Shaffy revealed how her views on marriage have evolved over the years. She described her earlier understanding of marriage as something tied primarily to love, reproduction, and building a family.
“When I was younger, marriage was all about reproduction, because I had to fall in love and have a family of my own,” she noted. “But that’s quite different from where I am right now.”
According to her, growing older naturally shrinks the relationship circle, making romantic connections more selective. Despite that, she believes meaningful relationships are still possible, though she no longer feels desperate or rushed to find them.
“When one gets to a certain age, the circle of a relationship becomes smaller,” she said. “But that doesn’t mean things can’t happen again… I’m just not even interested anymore because I’ve got mine.”
💬 Shaffy’s message is clear: She's in no hurry, knows what she wants, and won’t settle for less.
Whether or not love finds her again, the actress stands as a shining example of grace, self-assurance, and growth.
