Popular Nollywood actor Jerry Williams has allegedly been taken into custody by the Nigerian Police Force in Edo State, sparking widespread concern among fans and colleagues.
According to reports, the arrest occurred on July 21, 2025, and was disclosed by film producer Stanley Ontop via social media. Stanley claimed that the operation was led by Nwafor Franklin, also known as Izutech, who reportedly stormed Jerry Williams’ residence and whisked him away under unclear circumstances.
Stanley expressed serious concern over the actor’s well-being, stating that if anything happens to Williams, Izutech should be held accountable. He also revealed that he arrived at the apartment shortly after the incident but found it completely empty.
“Before I reached Jerry’s apartment, they had already left. I chased them with my car, yet I didn’t see them,” he wrote in a post that has since gone viral.
As of now, neither the Nigerian Police nor Jerry Williams’ team has officially confirmed the incident or provided further details regarding the reasons behind the alleged arrest or the actor's current location.
Fans and fellow Nollywood actors are anxiously awaiting updates, while many are calling for transparency and due process in handling the matter.
