Suspected bandits have abducted three persons, including a pastor, in Bauda Village, Maro Community of Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The victims have been identified as Reverend Anthony Lamba, 50, of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) in Bauda, along with Christiana Anthony and Danlami Zana. They were reportedly seized by armed men while working on their farm on Friday afternoon.
According to a report shared on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the gunmen stormed the farmland and whisked the victims away to an unknown location before security operatives could respond.
"Efforts were made to mobilize security personnel, but the assailants had already fled with the victims before any interception could be made," the post stated.
Security agencies have since been mobilized, and efforts are underway to rescue the abducted individuals unharmed, sources said.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
The latest abduction adds to the growing list of violent attacks and kidnappings across rural communities in Kajuru LGA, an area that has faced repeated invasions by armed groups in recent years.
Residents continue to call for increased security presence in the region to protect farmers and local communities who have been repeatedly targeted during the farming season.
