Popular Nigerian actress and media personality Bisola Aiyeola is redefining what fulfillment looks like, and this time, it doesn’t include chasing marriage.
In a revealing conversation on the Dear Ife podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, the Big Brother Naija alum, now 39, offered her most introspective take yet on love, motherhood, and societal expectations.
According to a July 26, 2025 report by The Sun, Bisola candidly shared how her perspective on relationships has shifted with time and experience.
“I’m not really keen on marriage any longer. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it’s okay too,” she said. “I gave myself an age marker; I didn’t want to have babies after I clocked 38. I’ve passed 38 and have no man yet, so I’m just here, not actively looking forward to it.”
Clarity Over Convention
For Bisola, choosing peace over pressure has become her mantra. Her decision isn’t rooted in heartbreak or bitterness, but rather in clarity.
“I think I’ve gotten used to being alone. I love, love. I still do. Love is sweet and beautiful, but reality is a different story,” she confessed.
She also reflected on how modern marriages often fall short of the values they once stood for, loyalty, respect, and stability. Her takeaway? Love is not enough. Real commitment requires trust, compatibility, and emotional peace.
A Shift in Priorities
Mother to one and accomplished in her own right, Bisola emphasized that financial freedom, emotional balance, and purposeful living now take precedence over traditional milestones.
“I want to travel, build wealth, and live life on my own terms,” she stated. “Whether I do that alone or with a partner, I’m okay either way.”
Breaking the Mold
Bisola’s bold honesty resonates with many women redefining what it means to be fulfilled in today’s world. In choosing herself without apology, she sends a powerful message: happiness isn’t always wrapped in a wedding band.
