A horrific attack by armed men in Yelewata has claimed the lives of many residents, including the wife and four children of Tsegba Gbam Ayua. According to Ayua, his family was burned to ashes inside the market stalls where they were sleeping.

Ayua recounted his harrowing experience, stating that he had been displaced from Ayua in Nasarawa State for over two years and was seeking refuge with his family in Yelewata. He had returned to Nasarawa to take on menial jobs to support his family, but received a distressing call informing him that their host community was under attack.

Rushing back to Yelewata, Ayua was met with unimaginable horror. His wife and four children had tragically lost their lives, burned to ashes inside the market stalls where they were sleeping. The attack was devastating, with over 100 corpses recovered in the area.
