A disturbing video has emerged showing Goodluck M. Iheanacho, the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area in Rivers State, being beaten, brutalized, and humiliated by a group of youths. The attackers allegedly forced Iheanacho to sign his resignation letter, which has sparked widespread controversy and concern.
Sources claim that the attackers are loyalists of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. This allegation has raised questions about the motivations behind the attack and the potential involvement of powerful individuals.
The resignation letter, dated June 20, 2025, was addressed to the Sole Administrator of Rivers State and cited Iheanacho's desire to return to the private sector as the reason for his resignation. However, Iheanacho has since denied reports of his resignation, insisting that he remains in office and that the letter circulating on social media is false.
The state police command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed that Iheanacho was assaulted by hoodlums who forced him to resign and that the matter is currently under investigation. Meanwhile, the council's Chief Security Officer, Hector Ekeakita, claimed that Iheanacho's resignation was genuine and came in response to public pressure from angry youths in the community.
