The First Lady of Nigeria, Remi Tinubu, has been honoured with a chieftaincy title in Enugu State. Mrs Tinubu was conferred with the title of Ugosimba 1 of Enugu State, which translates to "Jewel of Women Empowerment".
The chieftaincy conferment ceremony was attended by top leaders in Enugu State, including Governor Peter Mbah and several traditional leaders. This honour comes barely one month after her husband, President Bola Tinubu, was honoured with the title of Dike Si N'mba 1 of Anambra State.
Mrs Tinubu's visit to Enugu State was part of a working visit to promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Tinubu-led administration. During her visit, she focused on distributing professional materials and kits to midwives in the state, aiming to ensure optimal healthcare and well-being for every woman.
The Office of the First Lady stated that the initiative is in line with the current administration's goal of promoting healthcare and women's empowerment. Mrs Tinubu continues to champion women's empowerment and healthcare initiatives.
