Rapper No Savage, whose real name is Noah Settles, served three years in prison for firing a gun inside the Tysons Corner Center in Virginia in 2022. Settles had been in a fight with another group at the mall, but fortunately, no one was hit by the bullets.
Settles was in court on Friday for violating the terms of his probation by failing drug and alcohol tests and not completing the required substance abuse treatment. His lawyer asked the judge to allow him to use marijuana, citing the "music scene and social scene" that Settles is part of.
The judge expressed concerns about allowing Settles to use marijuana, questioning whether it was fair to grant an exception simply because of his profession. The judge worried that if Settles didn't follow his probation rules, he might end up with more serious problems or even dead.
Although Settles could have been sent back to prison for breaking his probation, he will remain free while his lawyer and probation officer work out a plan. Settles is expected to return to court next month, where the judge may approve a new plan.
