At least 15 persons have been killed by unknown gunmen who invaded Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of Plateau State on Thursday, June 19. The attacks occurred in the Manja community of the Chakfem kingdom in Mangu and the Tangur community in Bokkos.
The attackers stormed the communities at different times, with the Tangur attack taking place around 9 pm when people were already sleeping. The gunmen operated for a while during the attacks, shooting sporadically and breaking into people's homes.
Residents of Mangu and Bokkos confirmed that seven people were killed in Mangu, while eight people died in Bokkos. The attacks have left the communities in shock and fear.
The state police command is yet to comment on this development. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Plateau State, and the need for effective measures to protect lives and property.
