Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has issued a stern warning to married couples. According to him, when a spouse prefers talking to others over their partner, it's a sign of trouble brewing in the marriage. Adeboye likens this situation to "fire on the mountain," indicating a potentially explosive situation that requires immediate attention.
Adeboye attributes the breakdown in marriages to the pursuit of wealth and career, which often forces couples to live apart. He notes that long-distance marriages can be detrimental to family life, leading to infidelity and relationship breakdown. Even when couples live together, they may still experience emotional distance if they're not making time for each other.
To prevent drifting apart, Adeboye advises couples to be intentional about spending quality time together. This can include going on dates, taking walks, and engaging in activities that foster bonding and communication. He also cautions against forming close relationships with members of the opposite sex outside of marriage, warning that these friendships can easily morph into something more sinister.
Adeboye emphasizes the importance of prioritizing marriage after one's relationship with God. He encourages couples to make time for each other, away from distractions, and to nurture their bond. By doing so, couples can build a strong foundation for their marriage and overcome potential challenges.
