In a significant military operation, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have carried out coordinated air and ground assaults on Boko Haram and ISWAP strongholds in Borno and Yobe States. The joint offensive targeted hideouts in Nzalgana, Gujba Local Government Area, and the notorious Tumbuktu Triangle, a long-time insurgent sanctuary.
The strikes resulted in heavy casualties among the terrorists, including their leaders. Ameer Malam Jidda, a top Boko Haram/ISWAP commander known for orchestrating attacks from his bases in Ngorgore and Malumti Villages, was neutralized. His death marks a significant blow to the group's command structure in the region. In a separate operation in Abadam, troops recovered the bodies of additional insurgents and seized a cache of weapons during a follow-up operation in Mallamfatori.
This operation is part of a broader military campaign aimed at dislodging the remnants of terrorist elements from their remaining enclaves in the Lake Chad region. The Nigerian Army's efforts to intensify the fight against insurgency have yielded significant results.
