The Nigerian Army has confirmed that several soldiers were killed and others wounded in attacks by armed terrorists on forward operating bases in Niger and Kaduna states. The attacks occurred on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, and targeted bases in the general areas of Kwanar Dutse Mairiga and Boka in Niger State, and Aungwan Turai in Chikun LGA of Kaduna State.
The Nigerian Army launched several counterattacks, including land and air responses, leading to the death of scores of bandits in the fierce battle. Despite the losses, the Army's response was swift and decisive, aiming to neutralize the threat posed by the bandits.
Unfortunately, apart from the soldiers who lost their lives, four other soldiers were also wounded in battle and are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. The Army has promised to provide further details on what transpired later.
