Mluleki Nkosi, a 30-year-old man from Mpumalanga, has been accused of killing his sister, Sibongile Precious, 40, and burying her in a shallow grave at their home. The accused made a shocking confession to the police after being beaten by the community for allegedly stealing a laptop.
Nkosi has told the Kabokweni magistrate's court that he will represent himself in the case, despite the serious charges against him. Magistrate Musa Mabuza warned Nkosi of the gravity of the charges, but he insisted on representing himself.
According to Provincial police spokesperson Brig Donald Mdhluli, Nkosi led police to the premises where he buried his sister after confessing to the crime. The police exhumed the body on Thursday, and the matter was postponed to August 14 for further investigation.
Nkosi told the court that he understands the charges against him and does not want bail. The community's reaction to his alleged crime was intense, with Nkosi claiming he was being haunted and confessing to the killing after being accused of stealing a laptop.
